A volunteer at a Los Angeles High School was arrested on December 30th following allegations of indecent behavior with a student and child pornography charges.
Andres Fernandez, 30, of South El Monte High School had been volunteering at the school for a year at the time of his arrest. He was initially put on administrative leave but was fired prior to his arrest by police on “suspicion of possessing obscene material involving children.”
The current accusations imply that Fernandez gave a student or students alcohol and then took inappropriate pictures of at least one student while sleeping. The school became aware of the allegations against Fernandez before the winter holidays and notified police. Although the school has remained quiet about the details of the investigation, they have stated that currently one student is known to have been victimized.
